Our Beloved Golden Retrievers

When I worked as a nursing assistant in high school, neighborhood Golden Retrievers would visit the nursing home, bringing comfort and joy to patients, families, and staff. Their gentle nature and ability to brighten a room left a lasting impression.

Years later, as both a Hospice RN and a mental health therapist, I’ve witnessed how Golden Retrievers—and animals in general—help people regulate emotions, reduce stress, and find comfort during difficult times. These experiences inspired me (Hannah) to pursue the “God dream” of raising Golden Retriever puppies.

At Golden Acres, we offer healthy, happy, and confident puppies from exceptional pedigrees and champion bloodlines. As a small breeder, we focus on quality over quantity, nurturing both our breeding dogs and puppies in a loving, responsible environment. Our puppies are born and raised indoors, receiving early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction (ESI) to build confidence and resilience. They also enjoy socialization outings, noise desensitization, and structured experiences that support their growth. What makes our pups extra special is the impact our five children have on them. Each child takes responsibility for helping socialize the puppies daily, and the pups enjoy visits to schools, daycares, nursing homes, and the lake—or indoor water play when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Before adoption, each puppy receives a veterinary exam, first set of vaccinations, deworming series, microchipping, and introductions to crate training and potty training, ensuring they are healthy, well-adjusted, and ready to join your family. Our time with each puppy is full of love and intention, preparing them to bring joy, companionship, and emotional support to their new homes.

Helping you find your forever friend is a joy we truly treasure.

Meet our dogs

Here’s a sneak peek into our dog family! The dogs featured below are part of our family and the extended Golden Acres community. Some are active in our breeding program, while others will join once the current breeding dogs retire.

We maintain a limited number of litters each year to comply with Minnesota breeding regulations. This allows us to stay small, provide dedicated care to each puppy, and ensure a nurturing environment. Not all breeding dogs are bred annually, as we prioritize their health and our commitment to quality over quantity. Each dog contributes unique traits that enhance the health, beauty, and temperament of their puppies. Occasionally, you will find that we incorporate sires from exceptional bloodlines outside our program to further improve the breed.
