2026 & 2027 Plans
Mother Nature is always in charge, but if all goes as hoped and timing works out, these are the females and the months when we could expect puppies to go home to their forever families in 2026. Please keep in mind that these dates are approximate and may change depending on each female’s cycle and the success of pregnancy.

IMPORTANT PUPPY AVAILABILITY UPDATE
We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming interest in our puppies. At this time, all deposits for our remaining 2026 litters are full. A deposit is what officially reserves a puppy for a family. We do still offer a waiting list, which can be found here: 2026 Waiting List — Golden Acres
The waiting list does not guarantee a puppy, but families on it may be contacted if an unexpected opening becomes available.
Thank you so much for your continued support and interest in our program.
2027 Plans
Due to the high volume of interest, we are opening a general master list for families who would like the opportunity to place a deposit in advance. Please note that our exact breeding plans for 2027 are not finalized yet, and deposits at this stage are for securing a spot only.
By submitting this form and placing a deposit, you will be added to our general master 2027 puppy list. Families on this list will receive updates as our breeding plans become finalized, with more information expected in the fall of 2026. We appreciate your patience and excitement, and we look forward to sharing updates as our plans are finalized. You can submit your 2027 deposit here: 2027 Puppy Adoption — Golden Acres
Thank you for your support and trust in our family as we do our best to place the right puppy with yours.
Puppy Adoption Process
We are grateful you found us on your puppy journey.
As we continue to enhance our breeding program, we have made minor adjustments based on our experience, the preferences of adoptive families, and valuable feedback from past puppy families. Additionally, our firsthand experiences with the unpredictability of Mother Nature have led us to refine our approach to planning. Our goal is to minimize disappointment for families when plans change beyond our control. Below, we outline our current method for adopting one of our puppies.
Step 1: Submit an Adoption Form
The first step in adopting a Golden Acres puppy is to complete the puppy adoption form at the bottom of this page.
Step 2: Application Review & Deposit
Once we review your application and feel confident that one of our puppies would be a great fit for your home, we will request a nonrefundable $500 deposit via Venmo. Deposits are valid for 20–24 months from the date they are received. While we understand that life happens, we plan each litter based on families who are committed and ready within that timeframe. If a family chooses not to commit to a puppy when offered during their 20–24 month window, a new deposit will be required to renew their commitment. This policy helps us ensure that we are breeding responsibly and only for families who are certain of their readiness. Thank you for understanding our firmness on this — at our core, we believe this process honors both our mother dogs and their puppies. Please review the puppy commitment link for a clear understanding of our policy. Puppy Commitment Agreement — Golden Acres
The $500 deposit places you on our general master list for a puppy (by gender, as requested), rather than for a specific mother/father pairing. The general master list is categorized into “female” and “male” groups. You may express a preference for a particular mother or timeline in the comments/questions box, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Step 3: Puppy Birth Announcement
After the puppies are born and we confirm they are thriving, all families on the general master list will receive a Puppy Birth Announcement via email. Families are notified in the order deposits are received.
This update will include details such as:
The mother and father of the litter
Your position/pick in line for your selected gender
The date of going home (typically on a Friday)
Step 4: Confirming Your Interest
After receiving the Puppy Birth Announcement, you will have 24 hours to confirm if you wish to proceed with adopting a puppy from that specific litter.
If you choose to pass on a puppy when offered, you will remain on our general master list. Please keep in mind that passing on a puppy does not ensure a higher position on the pick list for a future litter, as other families ahead of you may also choose to wait. Our breeding cycles restart each January, and each new year brings a fresh set of planned breedings. Priority is given to families who are ready to move forward within the current cycle, which may affect placement.
If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, we will assume you are passing on the opportunity.
Step 5: Placement & Updates
Once you confirm that you would like to proceed with adopting an available puppy, you will be added to our official master list for that specific litter. From there, you will receive regular updates on the puppies, including:

The total investment for a Golden Acres puppy: Female: $3500 | Male: $3500
Over the years, our family has continually invested in our breeding program to provide the healthiest puppies possible, which is reflected in the total investment. Our total investment considers many factors, including the rising costs of raising quality, well-bred dogs.
Families will receive a detailed breakdown of their total investment several weeks before their puppy goes home. This will include the cost breakdown, applicable & required taxes, final balance, and accepted payment methods. Please note that the $500 nonrefundable Venmo deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your puppy. In accordance with Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. § 297A.62), the sale of puppies is considered a taxable retail sale of tangible personal property. The 6.875% Todd County, MN sales tax is required on all puppy sales and is already included in the total investment above, for your convenience. This ensures your purchase is compliant with state and local tax laws.

Puppy Selection
Puppy selection will take place on the day your puppy goes home, which is typically around 8 weeks of age. You’ll have a full hour to make your selection, review paperwork, and ask any questions before heading home—so there’s plenty of time to feel confident and excited about your decision. Families are scheduled for their time block based on the master list in order of pick. Going-home day is typically scheduled on a Friday, based on feedback and requests from past families. The exact date will be shared within the week of the puppies’ arrival to allow for advance planning.
We truly appreciate the understanding and flexibility with this structured process. It has proven to create a smooth, organized, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved—most importantly, setting each family and puppy up for a great start together.
Our Commitment
At Golden Acres, our core mission is to serve others wherever there is a need. Raising puppies has been a gift to our family, and we strongly believe in sharing this blessing. We are committed to donating a portion of each puppy sale towards causes that support children.
